New Sunwing Montreal Flight Joins Non-Stop Routes from Canada to Acapulco

Say Goodbye to Canada’s Winter Blues with Convenient Flights to this Legendary Mexican Beach Destination.

The days are shortening and growing colder, with thoughts of how to escape the winter chills on the minds of many northerners. This coming season, Sunwing and Air Transat are making those dreams more accessible with new and continuing direct flights from Montreal and Toronto to Acapulco, Mexico’s original beach destination.

“Acapulco has always been a great destination for Canadian tourists looking to escape the cold. Now with new and continuing flights from two important cities, enjoying perfect weather is easier than ever,” said Pedro Haces, president of the Acapulco Destination Marketing Office.

Beginning on Jan. 3, 2018, and running through March 21, 2018, Sunwing, Canada’s leading low-cost airline will be continuing their yearly non-stop flight from Toronto to Acapulco every Wednesday. In addition, they will also inaugurate a non-stop flight from Montreal to Acapulco every Wednesday on Jan. 3, 2018, and running through March 21, 2018. The leisure airline Air Transat will also continue their yearly non-stop flight from Montreal to Acapulco every Tuesday starting in December 2017 and running through March 2018.

Major events this winter include the Telcel Mexican Tennis Open, held in Acapulco from Feb. 26 through March 3, 2018. Sponsored by Telcel and hosted at the Princess Mundo Imperial Acapulco, major international competitors will include Venus Williams, Rafael Nadal, Juan Martin del Potro.

As part of its plans to update tourism infrastructure, Acapulco will also debut a new state-of-the-art airport terminal in 2018 that will ease passenger flow and increase arrivals capacity. Other major new attractions include XTASEA, the world’s largest over-the-ocean zipline.

With perfect year-round weather and festivals all winter, Acapulco is a great escape from the cold. Outdoor enthusiasts will find much to bask in, as Acapulco offers five major golf courses, tennis, kayaking, scuba diving, windsurfing, sport fishing along with bungee jumping or parachuting for the most adventurous ways to enjoy the sun any time of year. Nature lovers can enjoy a tour of the mangroves at Coyuca or Tres Palos lagoons, and indulge in a mineral all-natural mud mask on site.
