–Grupo Autofin and Mundo Imperial prepare the inclusion of a master plan with an investment amounting one billion dollars towards the port of Acapulco.
– The great project estimates the creation of 10,000 jobs and a complete touristic offer for both national and international visitors.
Mexican investment firm Grupo Autofin through their touristic division, Mundo Imperial, has announced a billion-dollar investment to enhance the port of Acapulco and help increase the attraction of both national and international visitors to the destination. The master plan will integrate diverse projects expected to be complete by 2022, generating 10,000 jobs.
Mundo Imperial currently manages various first class tourist offerings in Acapulco including 2,054 guestrooms in three luxury hotels, 452,000 square feet of exposition and convention areas, 22 consumer centers of great prestige, extensive pool areas, the popular “Revolcadero” beach, two renowned golf courses, soccer fields, beach volleyball and two spas.
The investment plan consists of the following tourism projects:
1. REMODELING THE PIERRE AND PRINCESS HOTELS
Grupo Autofin already owns Pierre Mundo Imperial and Princess Mundo Imperial, which will both undergo a total of $50 million in renovations. This investment includes the renovation of the main façade of Princess, restaurants, bars, public areas, pools and infrastructure. Additionally, more than a thousand rooms will be redesigned to modernize and streamline the care and service of hotel guests.
2. SPA TLALLI
The Princess Spa will be transformed into a multidisciplinary exhibition space, combining the therapeutic benefits of holistic experiences with the latest trends in appliances and aesthetic medical procedures. Users will be treated by experts in traditional Chinese medicine, experience the latest trends in styling and benefit from a comprehensive fitness program.
3. TURTLE DUNES GOLF CLUBHOUSE
The exclusive Turtle Dunes Golf Club will renovate its restaurants, bar and boutique. The bathroom-dressing rooms will welcome a steam room and sauna.
4.GOURMET BEACH
Gourmet Beach will become a beach boardwalk with restaurants, bars and activity centers.
5. HOTEL PRINCE BY MUNDO IMPERIAL
As part of the hotel’s expansion, 2,000 luxury suites will be added where the highest quality of service and hospitality will be offered to guests.
6. HOTEL MARQUÉS BOUTIQUE
The tower at the Pierre Marques will now feature 85 deluxe rooms and 15 suites overlooking the sea to offer absolute exclusivity and high standards of luxury for visitors.
7. RESIDENCES AND LUXURY CONDOMINIUMS
As part of this project, a luxury development with residences and condominiums will be built in the most exclusive area of the Diamond Zone with and extraordinary view of the Turtle Dunes Golf Course.
8. HOTEL BOUTIQUE ONLY YOU
Located on the scenic highway in the area known as Madeiras, boutique hotel Only You is projected to feature 54 bedrooms of 915 square feet with terraces, spectacular views of Santa Lucia Bay, a reception bar at the entrance, sunset pool-bar and a terrace for events in the lower part of the property.
9. DIAMANTE RETIREMENT
These will be vacation homes with special attention to elderly people who will offer all the services necessary for guests and their families to tranquilly enjoy the lovely surroundings.
10. PRINCESS MEDICAL CENTER
A hospital will be built on Boulevard de las Naciones, featuring four operating rooms and 40 hospital beds.
11. PREMIUM SHOPPING CENTER
This shopping center will include exclusive stores as well as an entertainment center, restaurants and condominiums which will offer products and services of prestigious brands in a lovely and modern surrounding. This infrastructure will occupy a 431,000 square feet lot.
12. AVENTURA GUERRERO
An Eco Amusement Park will be developed within a nature reserve of 100 acres in Acapulco, offering various activities such as safaris, horseback riding, walks, canopy and ATV’s.
13. XTASEA
The largest zip-line over water in the world called XTASEA is scheduled to launch in March 2017 during “Tianguis Turístico,” Mexico’s most important travel trade show. This zip line will span over a mile long reaching 75 mph at an altitude of 328 feet.
14. NEW TENNIS STADIUM
Acapulco will welcome the construction of a new tennis stadium with a capacity for 7,500 spectators. The space will also offer nearby tennis courts with the latest in technology facilities for this sport.
15. SECURITY AND JUSTICE TOWERS
Located on the main entrances and exits of the Diamond Zone, these spaces are intended to assist in order, security and justice in the following four areas:
– Puerto Marques roundabout with 7,750 square feet of construction: Public Ministry, dormitories, attention to the public and medical first aid.
– Viaduct Torre Diamante: dormitories, attention to the public and medical first aid in a 5,400 square feet space.
– Regional Emergency Care Center, 18,300 square feet of construction.
– Monument to Vicente Guerrero roundabout, 18,300 square feet of construction: Public Ministry, dormitories, attention to the public and medical first aid.
16. PRINCESS UNIVERSITY
Princess University will have the highest standards of excellence and innovation in teaching tourism, hospitality, cuisine and languages, comparable with those in the best universities in the world of whom they will be strategic partners. The building is programmed to be developed in a 757,000 square feet lot. The curriculum is carefully designed to offer a theoretical and practical academic training of high level both in higher education and postgraduate studies.
The design of the master plan was defined by the company RABAGO ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS by Architect Arnoldo Rabago. The official model of the project was the brainchild of the company MAQYMAQ of Jesus Asencio, prestigious company dedicated to the tourism sector in Mexico.
